Australian Diabetes Council
Australian Diabetes Council mission is to prevent diabetes and its complications. To effectively deliver on our mission we have a CLEAR pathway forward, we must: Challenge, Listen, Educate, Advocate and fund Research.
To ensure we continue to deliver more services to people living with and at risk of diabetes we continually review our operating costs and earlier this year identified that we had reached a point where we needed to engage some experts in this area.
We began working with the Epago Group in May 2011 to improve our organisation’s procurement processes. This involved assessing and rationalising our indirect expenditure in areas such as print management, warehousing, logistics, transport, and the tendering and implementation of various business and member engagement programs.
The results that Epago Group has delivered have positively impacted our organisations’ culture and our bottom line. Not only have our procurement process and buying behaviours improved we have also seen substantial cost savings. Epago Groups market expertise, procurement intelligence and enduring market relationships were key in assisting us achieve these results.
Epago Groups willingness to understand their clients, the nature of the NFP business and related requirements from the outset set them apart from their competitors. In taking this approach with us, they have earned our trust as a true strategic commercial partner.
Often in our very best professional business relationships we find a deeper connection than the purely commercial. Diabetes is present in many of the people with which we work or their families. The Epago Group is no different. The Directors inherent understanding of our unique environment on a professional and personal level, has contributed greatly to forging a strong relationship.
As Epago Director Mario Kalogiannis eloquently points out: “Diabetes is present in most of our families. We experience first-hand the tribulations and suffering endured by those with diabetes, our ongoing commitment to work with Australian Diabetes Council to support those living with and at risk of diabetes comes from the heart.”
The Epago Group’s commitment, leadership and professional approach to developing and implementing disciplined procurement processes has made an outstanding contribution to the efficient and effective operation of our organisation and so we have contracted Epago to provide Procurement Managed Services through to 2013 so that we can capitalise on this initial work.
We look forward continuing our successful partnership with Epago Group as we continue to make a positive difference in the lives of people living with and at risk of diabetes.
