Usually located near the centre of town, the agora was a place where the common people would “Epago” (procure) and traders would sell. Not only did the ancient Greeks go to the agora to buy their good and services, but also to meet with friends and exchange news and ideas.
Out to the setting up of sea side market trade centres from as far as Emporium in Spain to Alexandria in Egypt and as far East in Asia via the silk road the Ancient Greeks brought the notion of global trade and commercial procurement into our society as we know it today...
